The Grey Area has a problem. Fish have been dying off in large numbers. Some of the information that we have is:

• About one thousand fish per year have died during each of the last five years.

• Most of the dead fish have washed up on the shores near Synchrony City.

• The people that live in the Grey Area are bothered by the bad smell, and worried that all the dead fish might mean that something is wrong in their environment.

• Autopsies have been ordered on samples of dead fish from all bodies of water, but the results will not be back for at least a month.

 

Over the next few weeks, you and your partners will get to solve the environmental mystery of what is responsible for killing the fish in the Grey Area. Like real environmental scientists, you will conduct tests, do research to identify the problem, causes and issues, and attempt to solve the mystery.
