WATER POLLUTION  HOTSPOTS

Clean and plentiful water provides the foundation for prosperous communities. We rely on clean water to survive, yet right now we are heading towards a water crisis. Changing climate patterns are threatening lakes and rivers, and key sources that we tap for drinking water are being overdrawn or tainted with pollution.

 

Pollution has a profound effect of water worldwide. In this team project, you will learn about pollution and different types of contaminants found in water. You will research some of the world's most polluted water hot-spots and devise plans for pollution prevention.

 

You have been hired by Planet H2O to educate the public about water pollution.

• Relate a method of pollution prevention through words and art

• Name water contaminants.

• Describe different causes of water pollution

• Examine the causes of pollution in the world's most prominent pollution hot-spots

• Design a plan for preventing water pollution

• Assess the quality and effectiveness of water pollution prevention plans
