Welcome Science Adventurer’s,

I have a bit of bad news. The Board of Education has decided that Science is an unimportant part of the curriculum since all scientific knowledge has been discovered and is available online. They believe that the Scientific Process is obsolete and from now on all Science mumbo-jumbo will be learned through reading and memorizing facts.

Over the next couple of weeks, your job is to compile as much information as possible about the skills necessary to carry out the process of Science. You will then use the information to present an argument to the Board of Education that explains why developing these skills is an important part of your education.

In order to create your response you can:

1. Write a 5 paragraph letter to the Board of Education. This letter should be free of spelling and grammar mistakes, and follow a formal letter format. You may use this Argument Organizer to help you outline your response. Click here for your rubric

2. Create a "picture" reponse. This response must include at least 4 captioned hand-drawn images that convey the message of the importance of science education. Download the template for your draft by clicking here.   Click here for your rubric.

Good Luck,

Mrs. Garcia
